The MVS 3.8J and Hercules section of my site
This section of my website is focused on using MVS 3.8J running under the Hercules hardware emulatorThe wikipedia entry for the hercules emulator. Many links found on this section of my site will take you to external sites. This is simply because a lot of people have put a lot of time and effort into producing documentation and tutorials on using MVS 3.8J producing information far better than I could do so, so where appropriate the links will take you to their sites.
There are various flavours of the hercules emulator available, I have documented the selecting and installing the hercules emulator steps needed to install hercules.
Once installed there are many different operating systems available that I am aware of in addition to MVS3.8J that you may be interested in playing with.
If you wish to run your own copy of MVS3.8J refer to the pages on Obtaining MVS3.8J which covers all the different distributions of it I know about, or if you prefer just download my docker container image which you cn get running in minutes (however my container image is large as it also contains the MVS source DLIB volumes and the CBT volumes)
