Plastic Wrap, Cling Film, Glad Wrap

Is there something the manafacturers know we don’t ?.
We have all seen the ads where it is put over a wine glass and the glass tipped, and no liquid comes out.

But are you like me

  • when I use it it doesn’t stick to the side of bowls, or even to itself when wrapped around sandwhiches/lunches
  • it does however stick to itself in a death grip when trying to get it off the roll
  • when finally off the roll over the food/bowl/whatever the corners stick to themselfs in a death grip, until you untangle them and stick them around the object to be sealed at which point they don’t stick anymore

Just wondering, as I tried to get some factory packaged sausage rolls into the oven tonight, and even though the cling wrap had been in the freezer it was clinging to itself very tightly, a lot of work to seperate the pieces of wrap.

So it sticks tightly to itself after being in the freezer, and on the cling film roll itself, and to itself when I’m trying to wrap it around something… but never ‘clings’ to the object (or itself) when I try to wrap it around something.

Is this just me ?.

Well anyway, that was my thought for the day.
